Notice
Occasionally, customers have experienced problems
when ordering the book. Some have been
told that the book is out-of-print, others
that the publisher no longer exists.
Both statements are incorrect. What is
correct is that some time ago a book
distributors went into receivership,
and the publisher had to claw back all
of the stock, but that has nothing do
with the publisher or the current availability
of the book. What is also true is that
current stock is very limited with less
than 600 books remaining. Should you
experience any problems in obtaining
your copy, contact the publisher or the
authors directly. We will make sure that
you get your copy as soon as possible
and as long as they are available. Publisher
contact details and alternative retailers
are listed below. |

About the Book
This book is meant for advanced amateur and semiprofessional photographers,
who have at some time developed and printed their own images
but want to improve negative and print quality. It will take
the reader on a journey, which will transform trial-and-error
into confidence and the final print into something special.
The book explores techniques of print and negative control using
example pictures, graphs and tables to communicate the information.
Armed with this knowledge, the case studies show how and when
to select which techniques to overcome problems on the path to
the final print. The combination of technical background information
and hands-on case studies creates a link between the 'how' and
'why' of traditional monochrome photography. This provides something
of interest for both the practical and the more technically minded
photographer.
